This SUV type vehicle is giving a significant impact in the EV market with its advanced features such as sleek design, eco-friendly technology and many more.

Exterior Design of TATA Curvv EV

Key exterior design elements include:

A. Front Fascia:

The front end of the car has a thin full-width LED light bar that runs across the entire width of the front fascia which is similar to the other Tata EVs like the Nexon EV and Punch EV. It is situated at the top of the front end, likely along the edge of the hood/bonnet. This LED bar has different functions such as the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) including a “smart digital connected” design with welcome and goodbye animations. The main LED headlights are set up below the front fascia. Below the main headlights, there are LED fog lamps.

B. Charging Port Integration

The charging port is cleverly set up behind the Tata logo on the grille. This design not only maintains the vehicle’s clean aesthetic but also gives you a great convenience while charging. The port can be accessed with great user flexibility both manually and electrically. And, the port is placed below the LED light bar which makes it easily accessible and aligns with the design trends that we have seen in other Tata electric vehicles like the Punch EV.

2. Interior Aesthetics

A. Cabin Space and Materials

The Tata Curve EV has designed a special cabin to comfortably seat five passengers. The interior space of the vehicle is enhanced by the vehicle’s coupe-SUV design, which provides ample headroom and legroom for both front and rear passengers. In the interior design, the car uses special materials and craftsmanship compared to its previous models. It uses high-quality materials in leatherette—a synthetic leather material which is available in a black and white variants.

B. Dashboard and Technology

Similar to the Tesla’s different models, this car is also providing the similar environment with a 12.3-inch cinematic touchscreen and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster along with the JBL sound system. These displays provide seamless access to navigation, entertainment, and vehicle controls, enhancing the driving experience with modern connectivity options.  And, also there is a large panoramic sunroof available where natural light can pass in the cabin.

C. Storage Capacity

The TATA Curve EV has 500 litre boot space along with an 11.6-litre frunk which gives a good space for storing luggage and other items. The vehicle also offers other features such as keyless entry, push-button start, and fast-charging ports for devices which ensures a convenient and modern driving experience.

3. Dimensions

The Curvv EV is larger than its sibling, the Nexon EV, with the following dimensions:

  • Length: 4,310 mm
  • Width: 1,810 mm
  • Height: 1,637 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,560 mm
  • Ground Clearance: 186 mm (55 kWh variant)

These dimensions contribute to its imposing presence on the road while maintaining the agility expected of an urban SUV.

Powertrain and Performance

By anticipating how to store a good amount of energy, the company is planning to design its new Tata Curvv EV car with two different types of battery packs such as a 45 kWh and a 55-kWh battery instead of gasoline. A single front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is used in this vehicle and with the help of this motor, it can generate power outputs depending on the battery size. The smaller size battery helps to produce approximately 150 bhp, while the larger battery generates around 165 bhp and this is the way to measure how strong the car is.

With a potent electric motor which is  capable of producing a maximum torque of approximately 215 Nm, this car delivers exceptional acceleration and with a quick throttle response. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 8.6 seconds, making it a thrilling drive. Additionally, it boasts an electronically limited top speed of 160 km/h, providing a perfect balance of performance and control

When you drive this car, you can pick your car easily and it feels comfortable to you. Also there are three driving modes available in the car: one for saving power, one for regular driving, and one for going really fast like sports mode. It’s like different power outcomes in different situations.

Battery Technology and Charging

Talking about the battery it uses advanced lithium-ion battery technology. With the 55-kWh battery capacity  it can go up to 585 kilometers on a full charge. This car has a special kind of battery cell called prismatic cells. The prismatic cell technology is used to  store  energy more efficiently which also means advanced storing technology. Similarly in the case of a 45-kWh battery, it can cover up to 502 kilometers on one full charge.

The Curvv EV supports DC fast charging. And, with the help of this 70-kW charger, you can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes. But if you are planning to charge your car at home, you can charge it by a 7.2 kW AC charger and it takes about 6.5 hours to fully charge the smaller battery and about 8 hours for the bigger battery using a home charger.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

The Tata Curvv EV is a car which is built in such a way to help the driver to stay safe while driving. It has special technology called ADAS, which stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. The ADAS technology is shown on the digital instrument which is set near the racing wheel. This technology acts on the following process such as:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control technique: In this method, the car can build its safest distance from its nearest car, even if the other car slows down or speeds up.
  • Lane-Keeping drivers Assist: This feature helps the car to stay in the main lane. If the car starts to move out of the lane  it gently steers it back into the track.
  • Blind-Spot Monitoring system: This watches the areas around the car that the driver can’t see easily, called blind spots. It warns the driver if there’s another car there.
  • 360- Camera: This gives the driver a bird’s-eye view of the car, making it easier to park and see what’s around.

The above mentioned features differentiate the vehicle from the rest of the competition currently competing in the market.
